An attempt to boost Minnesota’s marriage that is legal to 18 without exception is apparently gaining traction at the State Capitol this current year.
Current state legislation permits 16- and 17-year-olds into the continuing state to wed with permission from the parent and a judge’s approval. Many lawmakers desire to completely ban the training for anybody under 18, citing issues that the loophole leads to forced marriages, teenager pregnancies and a loss in academic possibilities.
“We as grownups, we have been the people who understand better and so we have to fare better to guard our youngsters, ” said Rep.
